The name Asilia, meaning “Natural” or “Authentic” in Swahili, reflects this belief. It is a promise that what you taste is real, traceable and uncompromised.
At Asilia, Authenticity is not a marketing claim - it is a discipline. Every decision we make is guided by restraint, respect, and transparency. We believe that nature does not need enhancement, only protection. Our honey is left raw and unfiltered, preserving its natural enzymes, aroma, and complexity exactly as the bees created it.
Tanzania’s landscapes are as diverse as they are extraordinary. From the expansive Miombo woodlands to sunlit Acacia savannahs and cool Southern Highland forests, each ecosystem produces nectar with a distinct character. Rather than blending these differences away, we honor them.
Each variety of Asilia African Honey is sourced from a clearly defined ecological zone, allowing its flavour, colour, and texture to reflect its origin. This respect for terroir gives our honey depth, balance, and a quiet sophistication appreciated by discerning palates.
Our story begins with the beekeepers. We work closely with smallholder beekeepers and indigenous communities who have practiced forest-based beekeeping for generations. These partnerships are built on trust, fairness, and long-term commitment.
By offering consistent market access and fair pricing, we help transform beekeeping into a stable livelihood. In doing so, we support families, preserve traditional knowledge, and strengthen rural communities while ensuring exceptional honey quality.
Asilia African Honey is harvested from chemical-free forest zones and handled with exceptional care from hive to jar. We avoid unnecessary processing, additives, or preservatives, allowing the honey to retain its natural nutritional and sensory qualities.
Quality is reinforced through laboratory testing, traceability systems, and export-grade documentation. Certificates of Analysis, health certification, and non-GMO declarations are available, with certification TZS 851/EAS 36 from the Tanzania Bureau of Standards.
